In 2011, Ironwood Holdings APAC launched a digital private banking platform, and introduced a new way of trading, relationship management, and information access to clients in Asia. The effort required significant financial resources and a complete overhaul of the organization’s technology infrastructure to accommodate changing client expectations regarding autonomy for account management. In this case, students will discuss how Ironwood Holdings leadership reached the decision to change how they do private banking and the impact of that decision to their long-term competitive strategy.
