LONGi Green Energy Technology Co. Ltd. has long been one of the world’s most valuable renewable energy companies. Their success in lowering the cost of solar module manufacturing led to increased customer demand and their position as the world’s leading PV module manufacturers. As production efficiencies continued to drive down cost, and despite exponential growth in product demand, LONGi was faced with questions on how to maintain their dominance amid challenging market conditions. In this case, students will learn about the solar panel manufacturing industry and discuss the long-term strategy options for LONGi including product expansion or diversification.
