What is the best managerial style and organizational structure to most efficiently complete a given task?
In this exercise, students are assigned one of three roles: Observer, Production Team Member, or Management Team member. Working within the constraints of their given roles, students must piece together a puzzle—and, in so doing, illustrate key concepts about team building, hierarchical vs. participative management approaches, and the effectiveness of both formal and informal organizations.
