Entrepreneur Juan Lopez Mena purchased a dairy farm in the Uruguayan countryside in 2006 with a goal to redesign the farm's business model by investing in technology to increase productivity. This case provides an overview of the global and Uruguayan dairy industry along with highlights of Talar's operations—and then asks students to consider what processes can make Talar operate more efficiently.
