It did not reach this goal, largely because of emissions from its supply chain. The company has since placed a longer-horizon commitment to reach net zero across the value chain by 2040. In this case, students explore the options to reduce emissions – use recycled materials, decarbonize supplier energy, extend product life, carbon credits, logistics and packaging considerations, and moderate growth – and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each.
