What should business leaders consider when they think about AI deployment in investment and strategy development?
Part 4: AI, Energy and Climate Change – releasing the Kraken!
Increasingly, leaders are making decisions about the impact of AI on their strategy, business, and operations. This 5-part case takes participants on a journey through all aspects of AI in business, including AI strategy development, AI transformation, use-case assessment, AI Profit-and-Loss evaluation, AI investment opportunity considerations, AI ethics alignment, and evaluation of AI as a decision-making aid. The case is based on numerous projects with leading organizations that have implemented AI (some are anonymized, while others are disclosed). It is based on interviews with senior leaders in the AI world and various exchanges with those who spearhead the AI revolution. While each case can be a standalone class experience, together they make for an entire AI in Business course case content - covering AI issues from different perspectives: a traditional bank considering various AI use cases, a VC firm debating how/whether to invest in AI vendors, a regulator seeking guidance on AI ethics and governance, a utility considering the climate change and energy impact of AI, and a leader debating the use of AI for critical decisions.
The individual case parts are accompanied by teaching notes and a detailed breakdown of class planning and content. Some of the parts include additional multimedia content or links to recommended AI tools. The case is accompanied by a recently published book that covers all aspects of the content (in the case order): "RO[A]I: Everything You Need to Know to Understand, Implement, Invest In, or Use AI” Amazon.
